In Response To: A little handwritten guide (goran)

Thanks Forrest and Goran.

Oddly enough... my lava "twitches". I have the liquids flow strength set to 0 (i've also tried other values) and yet...

Lava flows to it's hightide, it hits it's low tide, and before it repeats... the texture "twitches" to the West side of the map (left). It's really annoying.
I've replicated the liquid you offered up Goran - still the problem persists. Any ideas?

: I don't have access to forge right now, but I have put togehter a little
: guide for you. I hope it will help you out.

: Here's the light.

: becoming active: period: put a high number here, this how much time you want
: it to take for the lava to raise. A value between 10-20 seconds should be
: enough, so set it to 300-600 ticks.(30 tick = 1 second). The "a
: period" field is not neccessary to experiment with, but it would
: randomize the time, giving some players hell while others not.

: Function: smooth or linear, it doesn't really matter. Smooth is more smooth
: so I'd go for that one. However with smooth lighting attached to liquids
: you must light the particular liquid afterwards in drawmode, otherwise
: will the surface get a smooth blend.
: Light intensity is equal to the % of the liquids height, so this smooth light
: will raise the liquid gradually.

: Intensity: Set this for 100%. This means the smooth blend will go up 100% of
: the liquids height.

: primary active: period: 30
: function: smooth
: Intensity: 98

: secondary active: period: 30
: function: smooth
: Intensity: 100

: The secondary and the primary active fields are representing the liquid's
: idle up and down when it is has been raised. Here I gave one of them 98%
: intensity, you can also give them the exact same intensity to make the
: liquid still. The period is not very important here, it's just to
: experiment until your satisfied.

: becoming inactive: This light will probaly not be used, but if you decide to
: let player be able lower the lava again, do just as with the becoming
: active field but give it an intensity of 0 instead.

: primary inactive: period: 30
: function: smooth
: Intensity: 0

: secondary inactive: period: 30
: function: smooth
: Intensity: 5

: With these two, it's most important to have a very low intensity as you want
: the liquid to be in its lowered state. It's not dangerous though to give
: one of them a little higher value so the liquid idle up and down. (just
: for the looks ^^)

: Important note: Uncheck initially active, otherwise will the liquid be raised
: from the beginning.

: For the liquid: Tide parameter: Your light you've created.
: High tide: the height of where you want the liquid to reach.
: low tide: the liquids lowered state.
