Ooh, that would be very nice for levels like this especially; it drives me nuts that from a distance my nice ignious-stone texture, which looks fine on walls up close, is horribly repetetive when covering dozens of square WUs from a distance. With detail textures and scaling I could use a simple, easily-scalable cloud texture scaled to the entire map (similar to a Myth colormap), to give variety of color and value across the whole thing, and then use detail textures to make it so it's not just a fuzzy blur when you look at it up close.
Of course that would require revamping all of Eternal's textures AGAIN, which is something I swore I would not do, so... I'll just deal with it.
