Well, really weren't the Hunters, Troopers and Fighters the only aliens the two have in common?

Hmm. Well, the M1 Bobs were always fun to push around - helpless civilians are always good like that.

And I actually prefer M1's Juggernauts, put the two side by side and it just seems somehow demonically "tougher." Perhaps it could be used as an earlier iteration?
