: We need to face the fact that the scenerio making part of the marathon
: community is slowly dying. Unless we can resurrect it with some cool
: thingy like getting Pfhorge to replace forge in every aspect. And maybe
: new anvil for osx. And more tools for pc users. And another thing that
: might save us. Better multiplayer. We got a very good multiplayer (over
: net) support with aleph one but it needs to be better, and more user
: friendly. Now getting stuff like gameranger to support aleph one and also
: being capable of joining a game in action would probably save the
: community.

Pfhorge will replace Forge, it's still in BETA, can't you understand??
There's a shapes editor for OSX, it's called ShapesFusion, it currently run very
well on my system, so far it look quite and the interface is nice as well. I didn't the new version, but the one i have is great.
The multiplayer aspect of Aleph One is still a thing in progress, right now i bet that the team are working on stability and platform compatibility.
Editors and tools for PC users? Weird thing that you ask here when there's simply no PC editor ported to the Mac ( i'm thinking about UT games, Halo, and much more ) Ironic, isn't it? Oh, i've heard about a Quake 3 map editor, but i can't simply figure out how to make the thing work and peoples and Mac Quake mapmakers ( if there's any ) never showed any kind of interested in that. Gameranger supporting Aleph One? why not?

For me, the only thing that beat that community down is the fact that peoples start some projects and never finish them. It suck, specially when they show dozens of nice screenshots and oh my god trailer but eventually end up saying they are too busy and blah blah blah and stuff...
Let me quote Nicolas J. Head here ( one of the member of a great project that was completed, Tempus Irae )

He mentioned this:
"To all those out there still working on their major scenarios - keep working. I'm still keen for the likes of Earthbound, Grendal, Hoth and SC Cartel. To those out there that announced their scenarios, put up web pages, made big claims and failed to follow through - you suck, and I mean that! "

DAMN, he got it right.
