In Response To: An Marathon-related image for analysis (Ernie) I swear Ernie, where in God's name do you find this stuff? Can't say I've seen it before in Marathondom, but lets take an inventory: (1) Sword. We all know that swords are typically indicative of an AI, if not Durandal himself. Of course, you also have the level name, "Ingue Ferrouque", translating into "By fire and sword" or some such phrase. See also the fourth Cortana letter to the Story Page, June 30, 1999. (1) Hourglass. No matching symbol that I can think of, but if you notice, the time is more than half-passed. Stages of Rampancy maybe? Time until the closing of the universe? (7) Stars. That's right, count 'em. Three are stuck within one quandrant of the image, three more in another (representing balance?) and one next to the sword (hinting that that sword has the power to change this balance?) The fourth quandrant is empty save for the hourglass (Two forces in balance, ancient endless balance, then nothing...). Or maybe not. (1) Big cross thingy. It intersects the image at an angle, and if it isn't from a scandavian flag, well by golly I don't know what it is. That's all I've got. |
