In Response To: RED Volunteers: Looking for Floaters (Mark Levin)

: The design of this level can be quite confusing: There are a set of ladders that will let you into an upper level which is placed exactly overlapping the lower one.

Mark, could you provide an polygon # where the ladder(s) begin in this level? This is the kicker level that caused me to stop playing RED all those years ago (I skipped it by cheating). I don't recal ever finding the ladder. heh

I'm trying to decifer how the ladder effect is created in the Marathon Engine... I recal seeing it utilized in Marathon:Trojan, and some other places... but it always appeared like ledges to me - somthing that's a no-no in the engine and has always baffled.

Or better yet - is there a map making tutorial on ladders? I presume they're just composed of stairs adjusted very closley together - allowing the player to run up the wall.

Thanks,
-Ernie
