In Response To: Re: Best Marathon Net Maps? (Bob-B-Q) My all time favourite was probably Wrath no more. We could only ever network 2 macs, so the smaller maps were always the go. Wrath no more had great flow and lots of interesting spaces to fight in. The inclusion of the 2x charger at the end of the long ledge was brilliant, and the little underwater holes and overhead walkways were great for ambushes. Nothing more fun than jumping from the hill area, turning and SPNKing someone blind just before they got to that recharge =) Others on the hit list would have to be: - Melatonin. My god this was a good arena map! Tight, bloody and an absolute riot on KOTH mode. I used to know the destination of every single teleport aswell as the secret alternate destinations. This perplexed my constantly dying friends until they caught on, then I started recieving a taste of my own medicine =) - Beyond Thunderdome. I don't need to explain this. - Mars needs women. Nor this. - Duality. Owning the hill with dual shotguns. Supremely satisfying. - Carnage Soccer. Such a great, silly little map. - Shadows of brooklyn, Reason with the sky, Sans Serif, House of monkey and all the other great little irregular maps in the Corolios loop pack. I always considered this more or less the unofficial expansion pack, and it got played more than the default levels in the end. The good news is we're installing Marathon on the LAN at work, as part of our continued digital pre-press dept anti-productivity initiative, so the good ol' days of network carnage are going to return. //t |
