: Have the songs ever been remade? using...how shall I put it...well...better
: MIDI sounds?
: Cause I like the songs, but not the sounds...
In short - yes, but I'm not sure what happened to them. The high-quality Chibi MIDI tracks sound much, much better than the original version. They used to be on the M1A1 website, but the website has been gone for a while and I'm not sure where you could find them now. Fortunately, I got my set, but it's mucho megabytes - too big for most of our e-mail servers. I'm with you - some may brag about reinstalling Quicktime 2.5 just to hear the sounds as they were intended to be heard, but I think that's a load of crap. Bungie made the music sound that way because they had to. They didn't exacty have a choice. Had all Macs of the time had the soundset now available in QT 6.5, I can bet that the original Marathon would have sounded very different. If I want nostalgia, I'll fire up the classic environment and play the original M1. If I want a version of M1 that takes advantage of my computer's capabilities, I'll play M1A1 with high res textures and the Chibi tracks.
