Wait, it can be played over a modem on a machine with modem/serial port . And there's more...

One of the player's icon looks like the ooze on PID and there's even a stalker, but it's a spider and doesn't look like the spiders on PID

Players can be male or female and after they have gained 50 points they're retired. Now that unimplemented PID warning window makes sense....

There's an ankh like the one found on PIDs icons and there are signs you can read and that may have trash text. hmmnn.... wonder if one of them talks about biblical candy machines.

Sleeping let you wear off poisons. On PID poisoned players can't sleep but the warning window suggest waiting until the poison wears off. Maybe it wasn't a joke after all, at least at some point of development.

There's also a Zeus weapon (a shield) and of course, Durandal! The manual says:

"They (Durandal and Excalibur) are also rumored to have other powers."

I wonder if Rampancy is a power.

No signs of Cortana anywhere.
