Gilbert and Sullivan were at Tau Ceti
Posted By: Alfred MordeirDate: 5/8/02 1:28 p.m.

Some recent talk about "Marathon to Waterloo" really got my noodle working. I thought, "Now hey, a comedic opera might just be the format that Marathon's been waiting for". So to get the Ball roleing I wrote this little peice. Enjoy

Modern Mark IV Battleroid
(Sung to the tune of “Modern Major General” By Sir Arthur Seymour Sullivan)

I am the very model of a modern Mark IV Battleroid
My duty lies in takeing care of space ships made from planetoids
I know the Pfhorish Leaders and quote the fights historical
From Marathon to Marathon in order catagorical

I’m very well aquanted too with beings non-terrestrial
I’ve taken out all creature both reptilian and Eqestrial
I’m fluent in the languages both of the S’pht and of the Pfhor
And I’ve blow them up with large amount of gratuitous blood and gore

I’m well adept at dealing with inteligence artificial
Though their orders are rarely Democratic or Judicial
I often blast through space in hijacked Phorish Battle ships
And I do the bidding of an AI who’s on some kind of ego trip

My fighting style is superb, though improvised and unrehersed
My only goal is to escape the closing of the Universe.
But still in fighting battles in foregen worlds and asteroids
I am the very model of a modern Mark IV Battleroid.
