: On the subject of the box art for Marathon, it looks to be Our Galaxy under
: the Stars Galaxies and Cosmology section on Don Dixon's site.

: I'll relink the M1 box art from a couple days ago here for easy comparison.

: One difference I spotted: The group of three bright stars in the bottom left
: corner of the original piece has been moved further in to appear on the
: box art - only to end up covered by the red Ai icon.

Spot on. They also moved this large star to the left and up slightly so that when they did the crop it would be retained for the box image. Bungie obviously thought it was a nice feature.
