I'm developing a fully 3D Marathon and I'm going with the name NuMarathon.
It's a new Marathon game engine that plays the original games and has new features to do new things.
I have the portal rendering working in Unity, but I am looking at OpenGL and C# to continue it.
It's based on the visibility of polygons as sides and mathematical planes.
The planes form frustums and sides are clipped to the planes and if I want it to go faster I'd make a compute shader.
I do have ideas for a software renderer.
