It would have been a full 3D game. That was the intent. Double Aught would have steered clear of making it like Marathon apart from having a detailed story.

Check the screenshots they were putting out for examples of "irregular and natural spaces". They were going for an organic look.

The Duality engine was never released to the public.
In a recent online interview Greg Kirkpatrick wrote:

I still have everything somewhere from DA and duality. It's not likely to ever get released in any form though. My big takeaway twenty years later from DA was that we should have just shipped ANYTHING. At a few different points along that journey we had some really awesome and groundbreaking stuff, and we just had to take a leap of faith and put it out.
