I was going to say a straight "NO" but I seem to recall trying to do this a long time ago. If memory serves I was able to squeeze pass where there is a gap only to find that the exit door is locked and won't open until you kill the Big Blue Meanie. So pretty pointless. Since I remember this... it must have happened. Unless it was a dream.
