: It's actually kind of interesting to think about ID and Bungie in terms of

: was to Marathon in the sense that each took the themes of its predecessor
: into the next graphical generation. For ID it was a dude fighting demons
: in hell. For Bungie it was a dude fighting aliens in space. But for ID it
: was the earlier title that became their enduring brand, while for Bungie
: it was the more recent.
I have more nostalgia for quake and marathon than for doom and halo, and it took me about a decade to find out quake and marathon had music.
