: I beat Descent 1 but only got so far through Descent 2 before rage quitting
: as it's much harder and Descent is a rather hard game at times to begin
: with.
: Years before this much like Marathon and Halo, I was more familiar with
: Descent's spiritual successor, Conflict: Freespace-The Great War and
: Freespace 2, the former known as Descent: Freespace-The Great War outside
: Europe. I mostly watched my brother Wren play Freespace as a kid since
: while I did have a go myself sometimes, it's still no pushover.
Years before descent II, I was more familiar with it's spiritual (thing to be ripped off), Star Fox. I got the chance to play the long-lost Star Fox II a while back and they were trying to expand the gameplay to take it off the rails for dogfights in true free-roaming 3D movement. It's obviously an experimental, unfinished game. Descent took the concept so far over my head that it makes me think we're not ready for real 3D gaming, and maybe we never will be until we evolve a third pfhor eye.
