: I'm sure there are a number of you here that already know about this, but for
: those of you that don't, a moder recreated PiD in full in Doom 3 and
: released it as a mod. I included the url to a video of a play through. I
: wish I was running a system that could run this, it looks like a lot of

The downside is that it's far too short and they cut corners on the monsters and the upper pyramid floors: the levels between Lock & Load and The Ascension are missing entirely. It's a shame as the atmosphere and extra world building as seen in the PDA is excellent. I also like how it opens with the parachute drop and Eddings waking up in the jungle, like a cross between 343 Guilty Spark in Halo 1 and the start of Halo 3 ODST. Too bad the jungle portion is also too short, as the Ground Floor loads soon after collecting your equipment in the jungle.

Eddings even speaks in that first sequence, and hearing him and the dead actually talk would have been nice to see.

If someone went back and made this mod more complete, including more faithful monster designs than just edited Doom 3 ones and all the original game's levels to the same standard as the pyramid, that would be awesome.

It still a nice mod for what it is, but it's weaknesses let it down.
