Sorry to revive such an old thread, but I found that both betas don't work: they load, but when starting a new game and/or trying to load certain maps, they crash to the main menu just as the map begins, sometimes after a second or so of the actual gameplay, except you can barely move 1 pixel before the main menu appears and you end up scrolling through the menu buttons with the up key.

This happens on both PC and Mac. I tested beta 2 on both but I've only tried beta 1 on mac. The result is the same however.

It isn't just me either, as I link on the page to someone else's post on the GitHub issues page who had the exact same problem and nobody bothered to help him either. As seen here:
