That's honestly what I thought before I got deep into it (space station, aliens, an AI out to eliminate its own creators... we've seen it all before if you just look at the surface elements). I think he just didn't finish the game by the time of writing (probably got stuck on Blaspheme Quarantine or Colony Ship For Sale)
