On top of that, as an alien species the Pfhor aren't even in any Terran taxa to begin with. They're not actually insects, or reptiles, or birds. But they're certainly more more like arthropods (of which insects are but one taxon) than they are any other Terran taxa.
Also I wanted to ask earlier, even making up such an intra-generation "evolution" out of nowhere, why insects-reptiles-birds? Reptiles didn't evolve from insects, and birds are not the only things that evolved from reptiles. ("Reptiles" is a problematic taxon in the first place, but I'm taking it here to mean all non-avian non-mammalian amniotes). Might as well suggest crustaceans-mollusks-cephalopods (because while most Pfhor are clearly crablike, the Hunters are much more clam-like, and the Enforcers and Tfear are more like upright squids, amirite?)
