You may have been thinking of Tyson from Beyblade. I don't know his original Japanese name.
Tai is Taichi Yagami, Hikari 's brother. Takeru's brother is Yamato and the guy who has Gomamon is called Jyou. They did get Mimi's name right as well as Sora and Ken's.
