Man, some hella philosophising going on in there. I really like how you work at tying in the events of the series and lore as a whole. Not sure I had linked the durability story to Durandal, not even the name, and indeed the very idea of being taller goes back even to the Marathon manual "You're bigger and stronger, and a better shot". And I think may be alluded to elsewhere.
That was always going to be a hard level to coop and describe blind - hopefully the much lighter Aie Mak Sicur, with far more straight up killing stuff, will give you a nice break before Acme Station.
