just went through Electric Sheep Two, read the term, and realized that i've always thought this terms were soliloquies: Ne Cede Malis' end term, all the Electric Sheep and dream level terms. they feel like we're lost in our own minds, figuring out what to do or where to go next. that's why they're so abstract and poetic, yet some of them make sense in our circumstances.
reminds me a bit of Terrence Malick's film "The Thin Red Line", where soldiers' thoughts are presented to the viewer in poetic form. we think in poetry: abstract, sometimes irrational, recursive, fuzzy...
