Agree on the commentary, but I don't mind the level so much. Loved the "someone lied on the internet??" sequence, lambs vs ducks, and "they beamed in right on top of us". I guess it's the off topic stuff that does it lol.
Indeed, the Tozt would have been awesome for the first part of the level - typical. Maybe a script idea would be to give yourselves all the weapons available on the level from the start. The pick up Tozt and immediately die routine was amusing, as was the performance with the delayed lift and just hanging out in the slime. I would have thought you guys were used to delays from the IIHARL doors :D.
