In Response To: Tour of Duty - Six Thousand Feet Under (Martin)

I remember watching my brother when he played through before I ever had back in the day – he was down to fists at this point...

This level is unique among all nontrivial levels of Marathon in that it has a no ammo at all on single player (and has a pittance of ammo on co-op). As a result, on Total Carnage, I usually run out of all ammo before the level ends. It's annoying. It will probably cause Narcogen and Blackstar some headaches, even with a script to grant them some weapons at the beginning of the level.

Even if you are carrying over ammo from previous levels, you will likely run out on TC, unless you make it a policy to punch all purple fighters or lone hunters, or you're really, really efficient with your ammo.

It must have been a deliberate decision on Bungie's part, perhaps to maximize the contrast with the next level, which essentially has unlimited ammo.
