As for OS, I'll just say you don't know what you're missing, Windows 8 is awesome. I ditched OS X just after Lion came out as I hated some of its feature implementations. I was rebuilt in the image of one who really likes Windows 7 and 8, and I have forgotten nothing.
Man this Tour of Duty stuff has really gone to my head ;)!
