: Not that it is your fault, but that was disappointing. Weland can only open
: M2, MI, and Aleph One maps, but it cannot open Marathon maps, or Marathon
: TC maps like Trojan (I just tried). :(
Yeah, the guy who wrote Weland is pretty lazy. Anyway, for now, you can open them in Aleph One, save them with .save level, and then open them with Weland.
: On a sort of related note, since these new Marathon betas have come out, I
: have been wondering, assuming you could convince someone to alter their
: map making tools, if it would be possible for Aleph One to run hybrid
: Marathon/MI maps, meaning a M2/MI type Aleph One map, but with the
: addition of the "missing" Marathon poly types like glue,
: superglue, and glue triggers?
Yes, we sort of had to do this, since saved games use the Marathon 2 format. We still have to decide on the final flags and their granularity, but a goal is to at least make glue and ouch polygons functional with check boxes in Weland, which can already place polygons of those types. Maybe the song index, too, since that would be way more convenient than writing level script MML.
