"Oh my God — it's full of teleporters!"

Thirteen to be precise. The 13th is the most difficult to find. But can you find the right sequence to take you around this level in the shortest time?

Try again is a big sprawling level, perfect for teleporting and the Utfoo Heavy Assault Craft. And just like the Nar you'll be gazing at the ceiling in stunned disbelief at the tool of your destruction if you stand around long enough for them to get a lock on you.

In the original game you must destroy these. You are currently spared this in the beta. But honestly taking these on is what makes this level fun. They have some of the best sounds in the game and their death sequence is really good. Unfortunately when they go nuclear they currently don't cause the player any damage. These things should blow you clear across the room and into tomorrow. When they start to go down… "You should be running." :)

Taking on Jugs with the rocket launcher reminds me of the Joni Mitchell song "Smokin' (Empty, Try Another)". Only has a few lines... the main ones being:

Empty, empty try another

Yeah, you have to be there. ;)

According to the original level notes this level was planned as vacuum and called "What is best in life…?". However the terminals planned for this level were incorporated into Welcome to the Revolution so perhaps it became part of the 20/10 Scenario Pack.

This level also contains a placement for the Armageddon Beast. A big red beastie that apparently sucked down damage like the Big Blue Meanie. It's sitting in a narrow corridor waiting for you to drop in. Want to know what it looks like? Well you can see him in the 13 alien Marathon ad line up.

How many is eight? Eight is the magic number for Extermination levels. It's the number of monsters you can leave alive on a level and successfully complete your mission. So picture this, I'm testing the level's Extermination requirement by going around counting live Pfhor.

1… 2… 3… HANG ON A MINUTE
***slaps self on back of head***

So where did I go wrong? Marathon map gurus should find this an easy one. :)

If you have an OCD problem then you probably shouldn't read any further. There are two places on this level where the lava does no damage. Handy if you happen to fall in. I'll let you find them for yourself. Some people will obsess over this but it is canon, so no need to fix it.

Oh and Marathon lava does minor damage whereas Pfhor goo does major damage. Why? Well according to one Pfhor Trooper… "Our ship's goo kicks your ship's goo's butt". Or something like that.

And finally, if you leave the BCE Super Shield to the very end, how fast can you get it to exit terminal and how long will it last on the next level?
