It's a community project, so we try to be open to input. Insightful opinions and well constructed arguments would be more helpful than this substance-less musing, though.

Well, the idea behind these engine changes is to use the original data files. If you modify them, they're not really the originals, are they?

Additionally, while yes, we do reserve the right to fix engine bugs (does this really need to be pointed out?), in this case it's a matter of not purposefully breaking something that already works. That seems reasonable to me.

If I may ask, have you, canon-lover, completed Marathon in an emulator or on an old Mac?
