In Response To: SECRET TERM FOUND!!!! (Pfhoraphobia) (jsart867)

: Hey guys,

: I've been playing through Marathon 1 AlephOne on Total Carnage. I happened to
: find a secret save terminal on 'Pfhoraphobia', which is located in the
: wall directly to your right of your spawnpoint for the level. If you look
: straight at the 'secret' door (flat textured in green), and count three of
: those elongated sphere shapes to the right, the third one is really a save
: term...!!! I would have included screenshot, but I can't get anything to
: work. :( The term works fine, though -- I've been using it like crazy to
: get through this highly difficult level...

: I tried emailing mneylon@engin.umich.edu (listed on the page) but got a
: mailer daemon.

Mike is long gone and the Spoiler Guide is in stasis.

The save term you are referring to was added in by the team that did the M1 to M1A1 conversion. It doesn't exist in the original game and therefore isn't canon. My guess is that the M1A1 guys thought Pfhoraphobia was too hard without a save term. But that level is supposed to be very hard since it is the turning point in the game.

What version of M1A1 are you playing? I was under the impression that this was removed in the most current version of M1A1.

Cheers
Hamish
