Ne Cede Malis tattoo
Posted By: GodotDate: 9/18/12 6:23 a.m.

I've seen a lot of marathon-related tattoos in my time. But this one has to be one of the best.

Ne Cede Malis, Latin for "do not yield to misfortunes". The first level in Marathon Infinity and not Greg Kirkpatrick's family/clan motto as some people mistakenly think. That's "Aye Mak Sicur".

According to Chris Geisel (Double Aught Software) the name is taken from a mystical ring that has been in Greg's family for years. The ring has a picture of an elephant with a snake coiled around its trunk and an inscription that reads 'Ne Cede Malis'.

Anyway back to the tattoo. This photo was sent in by a chap who is trying to track down the elusive Greg Kirkpatrick. For obvious reasons he wishes to remain anonymous. Greg if you are out there… stay off the grid, you are being traced.

Now regarding the pic. At first I was a little sceptical that this was Marathon-related. But then I saw the Manus Celer Dei. That sold it for me. Marathon all the way baby. ;)

And if you are confused... someone on this forum will no doubt point it out for you.

Oh yes… here's the pic.

Enjoy. :)

Cheers
Hamish
