Regarding Marathon Films...

Why does every vidmaster film I download involve the death of the player? I keep setting the controls to the defaults, but every film ends up with the player dead. Why? Am I doing something wrong? I'm using Aleph One v.0.21.2 to watch the films. Does that have something to do with it?
