Interesting. Of course you are quite right. It is possible for you to have been at a higher level and then descend back down to 'ground level'. So as you say it's not an error.

That box screenshot is from the 1993 version of PID (pre-PPC) so no floor textures. I would imagine it was taken from an early version of the full game rather than any demo. Hence all the extra stuff not seen in the demo.

'Piltdown Screenshot' indeed. :)
