Yeah I should have it in the Story page archive. What else is a 7GB warehouse of rare Marathon oddities good for?
According to Bungie's 2nd web page the M2 demo was released in 3 varieties:
Sixteen-bit demo (thousands of colors) with cool music - 16 megabytes - 4 hrs 30 minutes on a 14.4 modem.
Eight-bit demo (hundreds of colors) with the same cool music -12 megabytes - 3 hrs 30 minutes on a 14.4 modem.
Eight-bit demo (hundreds of colors) without the terribly cool music. A lightweight version. 8 megabytes - 2 hrs and 15 minutes on a 1 4.4 modem.
It took me the best part of 12 hours to snag the 16 bit one when it was first released. Of course, the whole world and their Mom were trying to downloaded it off Art & Science's crappy web server at the same time.
I am trying to locate the original sea.hqx files but this is providing difficult. I fear someone has moved them.
I'll let you know how I get on.
