In Response To: The Marathon Sounds, where did they come from? (Johannes Gunnar)

: Now here's a short question to all of you old timers. Which sound bank/s did
: Bungie use when making the sounds for the Marathon Trilogy. And were the
: sound effects in 'thin purely from commercial sound banks or did they
: actually have some in-house sound design going on in mixture with their
: bought sound banks?

: Also, who were responsible for the sound effects?

The Sounds in Marathon section on the Story page has identified a number of sounds coming from commercial sound banks. Some sounds are also reused from earlier Bungie games. These too were probably originally sourced from sound banks.

As far as I am aware only the Bob sounds were specifically created for the Trilogy. These were made by Doug Zartman and recorded by Alex Seropian. I don't recall any stories of Alex trying to record other sounds.

Alex Seropian is credited for Sound is all three game Manuals.

Hamish
