If you do end up speaking with Mr. Seropian, it would be interesting to find out exactly what synthesizer he used to compose the Marathon music. If we were able to find that out, it would, in theory, be possible to recreate the music he did for the game in its most original form.
My understanding from a brief conversation I had with him many years ago was that the Marathon music was part of the Marathon IP -- in other words, it is IP that belonged to Microsoft Legal and, in theory, now belongs to Bungie. If that is the case, I'm not sure if Mr. Seropian is in the position to release the music he composed.
