I played it back in the day, In fact, I traded a Talking Moose for it. My memories are pretty fuzzy now...
1) Don't ever recall seeing one. The only enemies in the game are your LAN opponents. (Or we always had enemies turned off, maybe.)
2) Deathmatch, pure and simple. There was no single player experience.
3) Yes, randomly generated. "Dungeon" is such a generous term. It was a bunch of random corridors, dead ends, and a few teleports.
4) a) spawn, b) run like mad to pick up items, c1) randomly choose items to attack with (if you are new at the game), c2) sort through the bewildering assortment of items to choose something sweet (once you start remembering the names of the good items), d) move right next to your victim and attack, e) die, f) repeat. Everyone had to agree to quit (press the Y key) to end the game.
5) 8 I believe. (I only played it with three other people.) It was an AppleTalk limit?
6) Amazingly fast-paced game, silly item names and descriptions, but nothing truly iconic - well, there was the Stave of Ultimate Doom (inscription: Don't Use This) that killed everyone on the map (including the user) - I liked that kind of craziness in a game.
