In Response To: Somewhere in the heavens... *LINK* (Godot) From what I remember of the Drake equation, it depended wholly on how optimistic you wanted to be in your estimates for each variable. I plugged in what I considered very median estimates for each one, and came up with 1 advanced civilization per galaxy. This article suggests that scientists (collectively) were expecting things to be like Star Trek, which doesn't give me a lot of faith in them.
