PiD the Roguelike

Im gonna start doin a PiD roguelike in C++, BUT i need to play the game to this end, cant remember half of the stuff in there. I run a PC using XP, is it possible to play PiD on such a setup? any help would be appreciated. We could allso use this thread to collect nice features for the roguelike.
