Thanks for your stats. The odd thing thing is that Bungie's Official Hint Book says that the Blue Crystal does less damage than the other crystals but you can use it more before it shatters. However that doesn't match your experience.
The Black Crystal, which you find near the end is the most powerful and recharges in seconds but it only lasts about ten times.
You'll find that the Violet and Green Crystals are more powerful that the Blue and Orange Crystals, they affect more monsters at the same time. But their recharging time is longer. The Green Crystal takes the longest.
Later on you will encounter monsters that just can't be killed by anything. But talking to the dead will help solve this problem.
