I don't think I've EVER played Marathon online, and I haven't played the campaign since back when the XBLA version was released - but the trilogy still holds a pretty much daily significance for me, I named myself after it, and it even permeates my vocabulary (just today I used the expression "the w'rkncacnter is loose" in natural conversation).
Marathon will never die :)
