In Response To: Doom 2 Volunteers (ray)

This level starts with the player overlooking a room with two zombies facing away. If you can suppress the urge to jump down and blast them, and look behind you instead, you can find a ledge with a chainsaw on it. Anyway, getting past the zombies lets you enter a short hallway. The room on the left has two switches - one of them makes the platforms with the switches on the descend into the floor, and the other is the switch you want to hit. However, if you hit the wrong switch, just pressing the use key while facing the side that had the switch will still use the switch, letting you grab some armor. The other exit from the hallway leads to a room with a bunch of imps and a few secrets - if you make the ledge on the right side of the room descend, then use the back wall when it returns to its original height, you can press a switch that lets you go outside for a shotgun. Also, if you manage to jump from here onto the raised platform in the middle of the room, a door will open at the end of the first hallway and let you grab a rocket launcher. The last secret is on the wall opposite the rising ledge, on the side without the cage - using this section of wall will open it, but there are enemies inside so be careful. Finally, be aware that the exit door has an imp behind it waiting to surprise you on the higher difficulty levels.
