I have heard about that theory. It is possible and it would explain why the cyborg is dreaming it (Oddly , this is familiar to you, as if it were from an old dream, but you can't exactly remember...).
I really would not mind it if a reason is given for its existence.
And i mean an official reason, not the fan theories like it being the cyborg's dream or just a homage. Those theories can be true.
It is like adding Marathon scenes in a Halo game and giving no reason why they are there, therefore making people come up with stupid theories that the Master Chief is the Marathon cyborg since no reason has been given to the marathon scenes in that halo game.
PS: Have you tried luring the Pfhor that you first encounter in M1A1 inside the PiD rooms? It is possible and it is funny to see Pfhor walking around in PiD like rooms. Big change from the "marathon" scenery.
