Have you opened the door indicated by the coloured arrow?

If not, said door can be opened by mashing the switch indicated by the second coloured arrow. It's accessible via the narrow, plasma-flooded corridor down below the stairs/dropoff to the east.

Opening the door reveals the large chamber to the west,the final room. There are six switches to play with and an exit terminal to read when you have played with them enough.
