Woo! I write a series that we've been joking about doing a tie in game for, just as a freeware type thing. Marathon of course holds a giant place in my heart, but I had to look at the practical side of it as well. After looking at all the open source engines that aren't hideously complicated to develop for (mainly Doom and Duke3D), Aleph One still came up the best choice just due to features + story telling ability + cross platform awesomeness (ie there isn't 8 different versions for 6 different platforms). Sure, we can't have doors that swing open and platforms that move sideways, but we'll write around that :P Still not 100% sure if we're going to do it, but it's looking more realistic :)
