In Response To: On a similar theme of things Aleph One (Robtot)

: What's the go with distributing Aleph One and distribution? Say I had my
: complete scenario, and shapes/sound file by the book legalities aside. Are
: you actually a complete package with Aleph One included, or do you have to
: send the user off to get download it separately? This is assuming that all
: GNU license documentation is included and all that jazz.

: I just remember reading that the trilogy release one click installers were
: taken down due to modified code violating the GNU, which seemed the
: opposite of what open source is all about, but I'm assuming it was no
: where as black and white as that right?

The way I remember it is that the source code for the version of AO included in the one-click versions wasn't made available, which *would* be the opposite of what open source is all about. Checking the main Trilogyrelease page, I see it links to this explanation which seems to say basically that, but Google turns up this post that seems to contradict it, so I don't know what's up.
