The result of boredom - reading not recommended

The city street was soaked with the rain that was falling on it, dark with the blackness of night, dimly illuminated by street lamps, which were few and far between. A soggy newspaper, partially covering a drain, lay dripping from one of its corners, which was draped over one of the bars.

A figure, his features obscured by the downpour, stood waiting in the alleyway. He was barely noticeable standing in the entrance, especially with the black trench coat and hat he was wearing, but he knew he would be seen by the one he was waiting for.

Another figure appeared as it rounded the corner. It was dressed much like the one in the alleyway. It walked over to the alleyway, concluding its journey as it leaned against the corner of the front of the building. It pulled something from underneath its coat and presented a package.

"You have it, then?"

"... Yes."

"How long did it take you?"

"Two hours."

"Did anyone see you?"

There was a pause.

"I will require an advance before I deliver the others."

"I'm afraid that is out of the question. Things have been... complicated lately."

"I told you not to trust them."

"I didn't have a choice."

"Then you will have to make do with what I have brought you so far."

"You're quite reasonable, aren't you?"

"If your definition of reasonable is keeping out of the messes others get themselves into, then yes." There was another pause. "I'll be in touch."

The nondescript package exchanged hands and the two parted, disappearing as they were re-absorbed into the rain-soaked evening.

I'm calling it... a cliche.
