I think this is the one you're thinking about, I'm doing this from memory so I might get a fact wrong.

In PiD you use the blue for health, so the player in PiD sneaks some out of the pyramid and either uses them to live until the war when he becomes the Security Officer or it somehow affects his body, allowing it to be preserved until 2194, year of the same war.

Of course as far as I know all this is speculative, and not really Marathon Canon
