Don't know about AOC but I used to play wow and after a couple of months i realized that i greatly disliked it so I went over to Eve Online which is probably the best MMO i've played so far. Beautiful graphics, Sci-Fi, (there's even a space ship where a portion of the hull looks like the marathon logo) and it's a true sandbox game, you're not stuck on rails, always doing the same thing like in WoW. Complete freedom in a player-driven universe.

the best part about Eve is that it doesn't require as much sacrifice when it comes to time as WoW, plus it's not a race to a certain level cap which annoyed me greatly when i played wow.
