Ch5 end in is a different timeline from the prologue. If the sphere had exploded, there would be no Earth there in the sky, no K'lia, no sun; the galaxy would be exploded. Ch4's failure dream is in the same timeline as the prologue, but later, after "Near Side". Hathor returns to the moment after you and she departed and goes crazy. The devastation in the prologue is just due to the war and to S'bhuth going mad.
